In Warschau vindt “Stand up for Ukraine” plaats, een grote donorconferentie voor de vluchtelingen en slachtoffers van de oorlog in Oekraïne. Het gaat om een initiatief van Commissievoorzitter Ursula Von der Leyen, de Canadese premier Justin Trudeau en het benefietplatform Global Citizen. Verschillende wereldsterren als Céline Dion en Bruce Springsteen spreken hun steun uit.
Bedoeling van de groots opgezette actie, met steun van sterren als Billie Eilish, Madonna, Céline Dion, Katy Perry en Bruce Springsteen, is uiteraard geld inzamelen, maar ook om wereldleiders aan te sporen om meer geld vrij te maken voor vluchtelingen over de hele wereld.
